Our Family History

Welcome! To the SLS Family Tree

I started this family tree in the summer of 2020 as I wanted to know more about my family - the SCHARF's - and as a result of my marriage, the tree has grown to include the STICKNEY, LEAVITT, and SIDEL families. For all of us wanting to know more about our family's history, and to provide a resource for our children and future generations, I will continue to research and add to this tree.

The various documents and photos here, plus memories, show the details of our history, but they also show that not everyone remembers everything the same way. There are some references and documents that conflict with one another, and differences that may be different from what you remember. Such items as conflicting dates?, who were the children and siblings of family memebers?, is this photo really that person? - are just some of the questions that can arise. There are many people in this world with similar names and birth dates. It would not suprise me that some of the information here may be from the wrong person.

In the older part of the STICKNEY tree, the information for hundreds of people came from the book "The Stickney Family, A Genealogical Memoir", written in 1869. To help keep track of who is who of the desendents of William Stickney (born 1592), I have added "SF####" after their name. The "SF" refers to the book and the number is the ID that the author, Matthew Stickney, used in for that person.
